Villas-Boas bemoans 'worst' Chelsea performance

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas believes his side's performance in their 2-0 defeat to Everton is the worst since he became manager of the club.

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has claimed that his side's performance in the 2-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday was the worst of the season so far.

Goals from Steven Pienaar and Denis Stracqualursi gave the home side a surprise victory, and Villas-Boas has admitted he is struggling to take any positives from the defeat.

"I think today was our worst game of the season, the worst in every sense of the word," explained Villas-Boas. "Everton were fantastic today, their new signings have helped them improve a lot.

"In our performance we were short of anything positive. It's a difficult day. There were a lot of negatives to take from it and a lot of things we need to improve on bearing in mind the FA Cup and Champions League."

The result means Chelsea drop to fifth in the Premier League, 15 points behind league leaders Manchester United.
