Andre Villas-Boas accepts full blame following Chelsea's defeat at Everton.

Andre Villas-Boas has said that he will accept full blame for Chelsea's 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park this afternoon.

Toffees duo Steven Pienaar and Denis Stracqualursi scored on either side of half time to extend the London club's recent poor run of form to four Premier League games without a win.

"It was one of our worst performances, to be fair. We couldn't express ourselves and collided against a good Everton," the Blues boss told Sky Sports News.

"I take full responsibility for that. This brings us back to fifth place. We need to be a bit more confident and I'll focus on trying to get things right.

"I'm not sure if it's the decisive factor, but I think the manager has to take full responsibility if things don't go well and it didn't look good today. I think the commitment was there from the players."

Chelsea are now 15 points adrift of first place in the Premier League.
