New Chelsea signing Raul Meireles has dismissed speculation that he left Liverpool for financial gain.
The former Porto midfielder submitted a transfer request in the final hours of the transfer window, allowing him to make a last-minute move to Stamford Bridge after spending just one season with the Reds.
"People think I am a Judas and that it was because of the money," he told RTPN. "It was not because of that, I will explain it later, things are still fresh.
"These are things that happen in football. I can only say good things about Liverpool, it was a fantastic year. I will never stop loving the club and I have great friends there. It all happened very fast."
The move reunites the 28-year-old with former boss Andre Villas-Boas.
