Frank Lampard says that he would never refuse to play for Chelsea, despite hating life on the bench.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has said that he would never refuse the chance to play football, despite sympathising with Carlos Tevez over hating life on the bench.

The Blues veteran has been a victim of boss Andre Villas-Boas's rest and rotation policy, missing out on his team's 4-1 victory over Swansea last weekend before returning to the starting XI against Valencia on Wednesday.

"Everyone knows what happened with Carlos Tevez in Munich the other night and I can't imagine myself ever doing something like that," Lampard said.

"I can understand a player's frustration when he's not in the team. Some people might make the wrong decision at the wrong time and then regret it later on.

"We all deal with frustration in different ways and I would never turn down the chance to come on and play in a game. I'll always keep working to be involved."

Lampard had started just one game in four for Chelsea prior to the Valencia clash, lasting 45 minutes in the side's 3-1 defeat to Manchester United.
