Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink thinks that striker Fernando Torres needs to 'look at himself' in order to find the answers behind his poor form.

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes that striker Fernando Torres is responsible for his own downfall at Stamford Bridge.

The Spain international has failed to recreate the scintillating form that convinced Blues owner Roman Abramovich to buy the forward from Liverpool for £50m last year.

"I think you have to look at yourself first," Hasselbaink told BBC Radio Five Live. "Ask 'am I doing everything possible to score goals?' and then go from there. There comes a stage when you have to take responsibility for your own future."

Torres, who has scored once in his last 11 games, was tipped to come into form following the acquisition of interim boss Rafael Benitez but the 28-year-old has yet to find the net under the former Liverpool manager.
