Sir Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams are reportedly putting £20m towards Sir Martin Broughton's bid to buy Chelsea.
A consortium led by former Liverpool chairman Broughton is one of three proposals left in the running to purchase the Premier League giants over the coming weeks.
However, according to Sky News, the bid has received a high-profile boost with each of Hamilton and Williams being ready to financially support the offer.
The report claims that Hamilton, a seven-time world champion in Formula 1, and tennis icon Williams are prepared to invest £10m each into the proposed venture.
Furthermore, it is claimed that discussions between the respective parties have been ongoing for a number of weeks, with the decision being described as a 'serious investment decision'.
US merchant bank Raine Group are expected to make a further decision on the takeover process in due course, with consortiums led by Todd Boehly and Stephen Pagliuca the other two candidates in the running.
