Gullit: 'Chelsea players don't trust Morata'

Ruud Gullit claims that Chelsea forwards Eden Hazard and Willian "do not trust" teammate Alvaro Morata.

Former Chelsea manager Ruud Gullit has claimed that Alvaro Morata's struggles can be put down to a lack of faith being shown in him by his teammates.

The Spain international has been bereft of confidence since the turn of the year, scoring six goals in his last 35 outings at club level.

Morata, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in a £58m move from Real Madrid 15 months ago, managed just one shot on target in Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Manchester United at the weekend.

Gullit believes that the likes of Eden Hazard and Willian can do more to get the 25-year-old more involved in games, however, telling beIN Sports: "His teammates don't come into any positions where they create anything for him.

"The worst part is you can see Willian and Hazard always dribble inside because they don't trust him. But also when the crosses are in, I think there was a moment in the first half where you asked 'where is Morata', he wasn't there. So they don't trust him."

Morata has 12 goals in 39 Premier League appearances overall for Chelsea, two of which have come this season.
