How Chelsea could line up against Manchester United

Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up when they welcome Manchester United and former manager Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have the chance to move clear at the top of the Premier League table for a few hours at least when they welcome Manchester United and former manager Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Maurizio Sarri is still unbeaten as Chelsea boss - with the exception of the Community Shield - establishing the Blues as possible title contenders alongside Manchester City and Liverpool.

Chelsea could make it nine games unbeaten at the start of a Premier League campaign for only the third time, and they welcome a United team already languishing seven points off the pace.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how they could line up at Stamford Bridge.

Possible CHE XI vs. MNU

Out: Marco van Ginkel (ACL)
Doubtful: Antonio Rudiger (groin), Ethan Ampadu (knee)

The main injury concern for Chelsea right now surrounds Antonio Rudiger, who was forced to pull out of the Germany squad during the recent international break due to a groin strain.

Rudiger could still be fit in time for the visit of United, but Sarri has ready-made replacements available in the shape of Gary Cahill, Andreas Christensen or Cesar Azpilicueta, the latter of whom could move in from right-back and create space for Victor Moses to come into the team.

Other changes are likely to be limited, though, with Jorginho and Kante set to continue in midfield, while Ross Barkley will be hopeful of keeping Mateo Kovacic out of the team.

Olivier Giroud is expected to lead the line ahead of Alvaro Morata once again, with Willian and the in-form Eden Hazard flanking him. Hazard in the league's leading scorer with seven goals, and he has registered three assists too.
