Glenn Murray praises Eddie Howe philosophy following Stamford Bridge victory

Glenn Murray, who scored the only goal in Bournemouth's away win over Chelsea on Saturday, praises the footballing philosophy of Cherries manager Eddie Howe.

Glenn Murray has praised the footballing philosophy of Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe following the Cherries' win away to Chelsea.

The striker, who scored late to record Bournemouth's third victory of the season, puts the win down to Howe's perseverance with his methods.

Questioned as to whether Bournemouth expected to leave Stamford Bridge with three points, Murray told Sky Sports News: "You always have to fancy your chances at 0-0 with 10 minutes left. They were more nervous than we were. I don't think we expected anything out of this game so we've done great.

"The team had the perfect game plan. They did fantastic, especially in the first half. We lost our way a little in the second half when Chelsea put some pressure on but we saw it out, nicked the three points."

On the tactics Howe employs, Murray added: "It worked well today. The longer we spend in division the more confident we become. In our last four fixtures we have controlled large chunks of the game, which is down to our persistence."

The Cherries have moved out of the relegation zone with the victory, going ahead of Sunderland into 17th in the Premier League table.
