Willian netted both of the goals in the opening 45 minutes, the first coming courtesy of a 16-yard strike into the far corner before a second was added from the penalty spot.

Meanwhile, Spurs also had Son Heung-min sent off for kicking out at Antonio Rudiger, allowing Chelsea to record a deserved win with minimal fuss.

Hello and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of the match in the Premier League between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. While the Blues head into the game sitting in fourth position, Spurs know that victory on Sunday afternoon will see them move above their city rivals.

As the two teams make their way out onto the pitch, let's see who features in each starting lineup...

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR XI: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Vertonghen; Sissoko, Dier; Moura, Alli, Son; Kane

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR SUBSTITUTES: Vorm, Foyth, Rose, Winks, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Eriksen

CHELSEA XI: Arrizabalaga; Rudiger, Zouma, Tomori; Azpilicueta, Kante, Kovacic, Alonso; Mount, Willian; Abraham

CHELSEA SUBSTITUTES: Caballero, Christensen, James, Jorginho, Hudson-Odoi, Pulisic, Batshuayi

KICKOFF:  Chelsea get us underway!

Not a lot has happened during the opening exchanges. Chelsea have seen most of the ball, however, with Alonso getting down the left-hand side at wing-back.

That said, it has not taken long for Spurs to start pressing the Chelsea back three, which quickly resulted in a mistake being made. That looks to be the way forward for Spurs in this game.

Back come Chelsea, though, with Abraham mis-kicking inside the area and Mount just failing to latch onto a through-ball down the centre.

CHANCE!  Chelsea keep up the pressure with a cross being delivered from the right for Abraham, but the striker sees his header deflected wide of the far post. It was half a chance at best.

The visitors have followed that period in the final third with a spell of possession further back. Aside from the odd error, it has been a very assured start from Chelsea.

GOAL!  TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 0-1 CHELSEA (WILLIAN)

GOAL!  Chelsea get the goal that they deserve. Willian picked up the ball on the left-hand side before cutting onto his right foot. Moura should probably apply more pressure, but Willian is too quick for his compatriot and curls a brilliant shot into the far bottom corner from 16 yards out.

The Blues remain on the offensive with Alonso galloping down the left-hand side. While his cross is a poor one, he earns a corner, which is easily cleared.

Right now, Spurs look a bit shell-shocked. It is still very early days, but they are struggling to find a solution.

There are a few meaty challenges going in right now. Mount could have been facing a red card for a studs-up challenge on Dier, but the whistle had gone. I'm not sure that it should matter, but it did in this instance.

The crowd are not necessarily helping Spurs out right now. There are moans and groans for every mistake, minor or major. The home side are not playing with any confidence.

Chelsea have been looking to win the ball back early throughout the opening quarter, and it is keeping Spurs penned into their own defensive third. Again, early days, but this is the perfect performance from Chelsea so far.

Twice in as many minutes, Mount almost gets into a shooting position. A Spurs defender gets back in time on each occasion, but more positive play from the Blues.

Aurier, of all people, makes two brave challenges on the right flank and it gets the crowd on their feet. It might be just what the home side require.

CHANCE!  It should be 1-1. Sissoko bursts into the area before cutting the ball back to Kane, who is waiting by the penalty spot. However, the forward hooks his first-time effort over the crossbar.

CHANCE!  Another chance for Spurs, this time for Son. Kane drilled a low cross straight to the far post where Son was waiting, but the winger sent a shot from close range high over the crossbar.

YELLOW CARD!  Zouma is the first man to enter the book for delaying the taking of a free kick after initially committing a foul.

Spurs have definitely come back into the contest. Since that Aurier double-challenge, they have been generating momentum and it is giving Chelsea plenty to think about.

After a coming together with Azpilicueta, Vertonghen has been left holding his thigh. It might just be a minor knock, but it is something to keep an eye on.

We have had somewhat of a quiet few minutes. It probably suits Chelsea at this stage. The West Londoners are trying to put some work together in the Spurs half, however.

Sissoko attempts to beat Arrizabalaga to the ball in the penalty area, but the Frenchman is always second best. Still, he decides to lunge in on the goalkeeper. It should at least be a yellow card, but the referee lets him off.

YELLOW CARD!  After a fairly innocuous coming together, it all kicks off between Alli and Kovacic. The referee resolves matters with a yellow card apiece.

Alli was probably the instigator having almost jumped onto the back of Kovacic. Understandably, the Chelsea man was left bemused.

There will be two minutes of added-on time.

There is a coming together in the penalty area and it looks like Gazzaniga has taken out Alonso in the penalty area. However, the referee has deemed it to be a foul on the goalkeeper! VAR is taking a look...

OVERTURNED! It is a long wait but VAR rightly rules that Chelsea deserved a penalty. Willian to take...

GOAL!  TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 0-2 CHELSEA (WILLIAN)

GOAL!  With Jorginho on the bench, Willian steps up to slot the ball low to Gazzaniga's left, with the goalkeeper diving the other way.

HALF TIME:  Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Chelsea

HALF TIME:  The half-time whistle goes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Chelsea deservedly lead courtesy of two goals from Willian. Spurs had their moments in the second quarter of the game, but they cannot argue with heading into the break facing a two-goal deficit.

A reminder of the two benches...

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR SUBSTITUTES: Vorm, Foyth, Rose, Winks, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Eriksen

CHELSEA SUBSTITUTES: Caballero, Christensen, James, Jorginho, Hudson-Odoi, Pulisic, Batshuayi

Spurs are making a change. Eriksen is being introduced for Dier.

KICKOFF:  Spurs get us back underway.

Both teams returned for the second half looking to go onto the front foot, but the early pace has subsided a bit now.

What an opening for Chelsea! Mount burst forward from midfield and should pass to Willian in space to his left. However, while a reverse pass finds Abraham, the forward attempts a one-two rather than shooting.

Looking back on that chance, Abraham would have been ruled offside had he scored. Chelsea remain on the attack, however. This game is really open right now, given that Spurs are leaving more space in midfield.

Both sides get into crossing position in the space of a minute, but neither Aurier or Abraham find their intended targets.

DISALLOWED GOAL!  Chelsea have the ball in the net as Abraham nets from close range after Gazzaniga fumbled Alonso's low drive. However, the forward is a yard offside.

YELLOW CARD!  The Blues remain on the attack, but their latest piece of build-up play is halted by a late challenge from Sissoko on Willian.

Rudiger commits a strong, but fair, challenge on Son, and the South Korea international reacts by aiming his studs into Rudiger's stomach. The reaction from Rudiger is unnecessary, but the intent is there.

RED CARD!  After a long VAR check, Son is sent off! I mean, there was intent there, but barely any contact. He ran the risk, and can probably have no complaints.

Naturally, this feels like a really tough ask for Spurs now. That said, maybe they will just throw caution to the wind for the next 10 minutes and see what happens.

After speaking with Azpilicueta, the referee has been forced to stop the game. Rudiger may have been indicating that he has received racial abuse from the stands, and now Arrizabalaga has had a drink thrown at him.

YELLOW CARD!  Alderweireld loses out in a challenge to Abraham and picks up the ball thinking he is going to get a free kick. He doesn't, and is booked for deliberate handball.

SUBSTITUTION! Chelsea make their first change as Jorginho is introduced for Kovacic.

Alonso appears to deliberately haul down Aurier on the side of the penalty area. It should be a yellow card, but the referee and assistant wave play on.

It has been confirmed that Rudiger has made a complaint about potential racial abuse. It's a toxic atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

SUBSTITUTION! Spurs make two more alterations. Rose takes the place of Vertonghen, while Ndombele comes on for Moura.

SHOT!  Before that, Kante sent a 25-yard strike marginally off target. Fifteen minutes to go in North London.

YELLOW CARD!  Sanchez goes on a lung-busting run from his own defence before being cynically blocked by Rudiger. I've lost count with the amount of bookings in this game!

SUBSTITUTION! It is Chelsea's turn to make two changes. Batshuayi is introduced for Abraham, while James comes on for Azpilicueta.

There have been two announcements on the tannoy over the past 10 minutes regarding the behaviour of a section of the home supporters. They really haven't covered themselves in glory during this second half.

Chelsea are doing what they have to do to see this game out. Right now, that means trying to keep their opponents away from the ball.

VAR is involved yet again. Spurs want a penalty for a trip by Zouma on Alli. The midfielder was offside, but because VAR shows that the incident did not take place in the penalty area, they are awarded a free kick. Nothing comes from it, however.

There will be eight minutes of added-on time! Maybe this game is not over after all.

Spurs have a corner on the right, but the incident inside the box happens before it is taken with Alonso pulling down Alli. He's fortunate to avoid conceding a spot kick.

SHOT!  Chelsea almost score a marvelous third. After superbly controlling the ball on the left, Willian played in Batshuayi on the opposite side of the pitch. The Belgian goes for goal before drilling a left-footed effort marginally wide of the far post.

Just the two minutes to go now. The stands are emptying by the second, apart from in the corner where Chelsea fans are jubilant.

FULL TIME:  Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Chelsea

The full-time whistle goes in North London and Chelsea comfortably see out a deserved 2-0 win. Willian got both the goals, but this was a collective effort from Lampard's side, who also keep a rare clean sheet! They have now opened up a four-point gap to the chasing pack for fourth place.

That will be all from Sports Mole for this match. Thank you for joining us this afternoon and we hope to see you again soon.
