Morning all! The first Football League game this Saturday comes at The Valley! Let's get straight to the teams....

Millwall boss Steve Lomas unsurprisingly goes with the same XI that toppled league leaders Blackpool on Tuesday while Addicks manager Chris Powell has to leave out main forward Yann Kermorgant, who has failed a fitness test, with Joe Pigott making his first league start.

Looks pretty quiet at the moment but by kickoff The Valley will be rocking!

As mentioned above, both sides haven't begun their season too well and are much closer to the bottom than the top. In fact, Millwall were rockbottom until Tuesday's shock win over Blackpool.

When these two sides last met back in March it was Millwall who won 2-0 thanks to goals from Jermaine Easter and Shane Lowry. Match report here.

PREDICTION TIME! Just five minutes until the off at The Valley so I best get my prediction in. For me, this game has draw written all over it. I'm hoping for goals though so am going to say 2-2.

Here come the two sides out of the tunnel. Both are wearing white t-shirts as part of a campaign to reduce street violence in South-East London.

KICKOFF! We're underway at The Valley!

Huge jeer from the Charlton fans as former Addick Nicky Bailey drags a shot well wide. First attempt on goal of the match.

Almost a calamitous moment for Charlton keeper Hamer as he comes sliding out before just letting go of the ball when the zippy turf takes him out of the area. In the end, smart keeping.

Charlton looking the more threatening in the last couple of minutes. Skipper Jackson just let fly from 25 yards with a rising shot that flashed over.

Brilliant play from left wing-back Wiggins as he cuts back onto his right foot before curling over a cross that's begging to be headed in. Beevers gets up to just take it off the head of young striker Pigott.

SHOT! First decent effort of the game from Millwall as Waghorn rips a 25-yard effort but it's straight at Hamer, who holds well.

YELLOW! This game was never going to go by without a card and the first one goes to Waghorn for a nasty tackle on Pritchard, who just beat him to the ball.

It's hilarious watching clubs' Twitter feeds during games sometimes. Millwall's: "Booking for Waghorn." Charlton's: "Shocking challenge on Bradley Pritchard from Martyn Waghorn. Late and high on his ankle. Just a yellow - bit lucky maybe."

Another shot from Bailey as Millwall have a good spell of possession. Again it's tame from the bald-headed central midfielder and easy for Hamer to hold.

Forde almost picks the ball up outside the box himself when he drops a high free kick on the left edge of the area. He goes down to pick it up but then realises he's the wrong side of the line and hastily clears!

There's also a lunchtime game in the top flight as Norwich welcome Villa to Carrow Road. I recommend that you open Jack Prescott's live commentary in another tab.

Another below-par shot from distance from a Millwall boot as McDonald does well to evade a couple of challenges but then pulls a limp shot wide.

Millwall have had six shots so far but they've all been tame. They've also only got one on target.

UPDATE: Norwich miss a penalty against Villa just moments after the visitors had hit the post. More has happened there in five minutes than he in 35!

A goal fitting for the game we've seen so far as McDonald's speculative long-ranger deflects off Dervite and completely wrongfoots Hamer, who can only watch in horror as the ball spins past him.

Since the goal Charlton have had all of the ball but not done too much with it. Jackson wanted a penalty moments ago but Abdou simply got his body in front and D'Urso rightly shook his head at the appealing men in red.

Just the one minute of added time at the end of the first half.

First-half summary: Neither side deserved to score but Millwall did when McDonald's iffy 25-yard hit took a wicked deflection, giving Hamer absolutely no chance.

Charlton's only shot came in the early stages when Jackson fired over from distance. At home to a struggling rival, that's simply not good enough from the Addicks.

UPDATE: Over at Carrow Road it's still goalless between Norwich and Villa, with the visitors losing star man Christian Benteke to injury.

UPDATE: Scratch that! Just a moment after coming on for Benteke, Villa's new striker Libor Kozak gives Paul Lambert's side the lead! More here with Jack.

Looking at the Charlton bench you'd have to say that Marvin Sordell is the stand-out player who could make a difference for the hosts. Missing Kermorgant is a big, big blow for Powell.

A little behind schedule, but we're now ready to go in the second half. No subs from either side.

Just 22 seconds into the second half and Charlton have their second shot and best chance of the match as it opens up for Stephens on the edge of the box but he can only half-volley way over.

Millwall are doing a good job of blunting any forays forward from Charlton. The Lions have their goal and now just need to hold firm for another 40 minutes. Easier said than done!

A bad moment for youngster Pigott as he runs the ball out of play under no real pressure. Charlton fans becoming more and more agitated.

CHARLTON SUB: Powell needed to make a change and brings on young winger Cameron Stewart for centre-back Wood. That means the Addicks will revert to a more traditional 4-4-2. Stewart scored an absolute screamer at Huddersfield on Tuesday, by the way.

MILLWALL SUB: A first sub for Millwall as well as goalscorer McDonald is taken off for Steve Morison.

Opening for Millwall out of nowhere as Morison wins a header that falls for Woolford. He hits it well with his left but pulls it wide of the goal. After an hour of play we're still yet to have a 'good' chance.

GOOD EFFORT! Trotter bursts forward and volleys low towards the corner, with Hamer getting down to push it away with both hands.

Here's a good chance for Charlton as Stewart, who is on loan from Hull, shows off his silky skills before being hauled down by Woolford. Free kick 30 yards out, left of centre.

Stephens whacks it into the wall before Stewart again beats his man before dipping over a dangerous cross that Millwall just about clear. It's really surprising that Stewart didn't start this match. He has noticeably changed Charlton since coming on.

MILLWALL SUB: Waghorn's afternoon is over as Lee Martin comes on to replace the man on loan from Leicester.

CHARLTON SUBS: Changes two and three for Powell as he hopes that Marvin Sordell and Callum Harriott can make the difference. Piggott and Pritchard those who came off.

Really impressive chant from the Millwall fans as they crescendo to a deafening EHHHHHHH. Not the best lyrics but impressive nonetheless!

CHANCE! Church breaks clear into the left of the area but gets his shot all wrong as he looks to open his body a la Thierry Henry but can only give Forde an easy save.

YELLOW! Second booking of the game goes to Charlton's Jackson for a swiping challenge on Woolford.

MILLWALL SUB: Third and final change for Millwall as Chaplow takes the place of Trotter.

Really good chance for Charlton on the counter as Harriott wins the ball before getting it all wrong by underhitting a pass for Sordell when he should have looked left to the unmarked Stewart.

CHANCE! The best actual chance of the game goes to Millwall as Malone clips it over the top for Chaplow, who returns it to the left-back. The ball falls on his right foot though and he can only side-foot it into the side-netting.

As we edge towards the final whistle you have to say that Millwall have fully deserved the lead. Charlton have done absolutely nothing.

FOUR minutes of injury time for the Addicks to salvage a point.

Into the final minute and Millwall have been good at running down the clock here. Charlton will not score here, no chance.

SHOT! By posting the previous update the hosts were bound to have a chance and they do as the ball breaks to Stewart, who fires towards the near post but can't beat Forde.

So it's a second win in a row for Millwall as they continue their charge away from the drop zone. The Lions rise to 16th while Charlton drop a place to 19th.
