Philipp Lahm expects counter-attacking Arsenal

Bayern Munich skipper Philipp Lahm predicts that Arsenal will aim to hit them on the break again when the sides meet for the second time in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm has said that he is expecting Arsenal to play a counter-attacking game again when the sides meet for the second time in the Champions League this season on Wednesday.

The Gunners beat the Bundesliga side 2-0 in the return fixture at the Emirates Stadium a fortnight ago, as they allowed the visitors to enjoy the majority of possession before hitting them on the break.

Lahm has admitted that he was surprised to see Arsene Wenger's men approach the game in that fashion.

"We have to be more decisive in the final third, convert our chances, and be focused at the back," the German defender told ESPN.

"Arsenal sat deep and waited for the counters, and in my opinion played relatively defensively. They don't usually play like that in the Premier League.

"We're playing at home, it's a top match, and we aim to win. It's an important game for us if we want to get to the next round."

Bayern sit joint top of Group F alongside Olympiacos, while Arsenal are bottom, three points adrift of the pair.
