Dundee United go second in the Scottish Premiership with a 1-0 win over Ross County, while Motherwell put three past St Mirren.

Dundee United have climbed to second in the Scottish Premiership after recording a 1-0 win over Ross County at Tannadice Park.

Gary Mackay-Steven scored the only goal of the game in the second half to move the Terrors above Inverness Caledonian Thistle on goal difference, although the latter have two matches in hand.

Motherwell leapfrogged Aberdeen into fourth following their 3-0 demolition of St Mirren, with Henri Anier netting a brace and Lionel Ainsworth also etching his name on the scoresheet.

Kilmarnock defeated Patrick Thistle 2-1 at Rugby Park, while Hibernian were held to a goalless draw at home by 10-man St Johnstone.

Celtic extended their lead at the top of the table to 10 points with a 2-0 win against Hearts in today's early kickoff, while Inverness host Aberdeen later this evening.
