Half-Time Report: Crystal Palace on top at Cardiff City

Jason Puncheon's 31st-minute goal gives Crystal Palace a 1-0 half-time lead against Cardiff City in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace have a 1-0 half-time lead in this afternoon's Premier League match at fellow relegation candidates Cardiff City.

After an opening 20 minutes that predominantly saw the two midfields do battle, Cardiff had the first good chance when Jordan Mutch crossed into Fraizer Campbell, whose low header was palmed away by Julian Speroni.

Down the other end, Jason Puncheon forced David Marshall into action but couldn't really test the Scotland international.

Minutes later Puncheon did find the net, collecting Joe Ledley's pass before drilling low into the bottom corner to open the scoring.

Cardiff struggled to create any openings in the remaining minutes of the half.
