Burnley boss Sean Dyche delighted to take point from Loftus Road

Burnley boss Sean Dyche admits that he was delighted to earn a point from his side's clash against Queens Park Rangers.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has said that he was delighted to take a point from his side's Championship fixture with Queens Park Rangers.

The Clarets were the first opponents of the R's under the management of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and the sides played out a match of few opportunities, which ended in a stalemate.

However, Dyche has admitted that he was pleased to avoid suffering the fate of the new-manager affect by taking a point from the contest.

He told BBC Sport: "A new manager usually gets a reaction and they've only lost once at home this season, so there were a lot of things in their favour. For us to get on with our own game and play the way we did, I'm very pleased.

"We thought they would look to press us, which they did. We thought they'd find it hard to keep that up for 95 minutes, which they did. We thought we'd get stronger as the game went on, which we did.

"So I'm pleased with how it ended up going, apart from the fact that we didn't get the winner."

Burnley are fifth in the standings following their draw at Loftus Road.
