Uwe Hunemeier joins Brighton & Hove Albion

Former Borussia Dortmund centre-back Uwe Hunemeier signs a three-year contract with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Uwe Hunemeier from Bundesliga 2 side SC Paderborn.

The 29-year-old defender, who has arrived at The Amex for an undisclosed fee, has agreed a three-year contract.

"I'm delighted to bring in someone of Uwe's experience. He has played at the top level in German football and we all know how high the standards are there," manager Chris Hughton told the club's official website.

"He has good leadership qualities, and along with his quality, he will add a great deal to our defensive options. He is of a really good age to integrate into the team and squad."

Hunemeier started his career with Borussia Dortmund, before he joined Energie Cottbus in 2010.
