Brighton & Hove Albion's Graham Potter is one of several managers Newcastle United will consider to replace current head coach Steve Bruce, according to a report.

Following the Magpies' £300m Saudi-backed takeover last week, it is expected that Bruce will be relieved of his duties before Sunday's Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.

According to The Sun, Potter is on a managerial wishlist drawn up by Newcastle's new owners, which also includes the likes of Antonio Conte, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.

The report also states that the Saudi owners have been impressed with Brighton's transformation under the tutelage of Potter, who has implemented an attractive style of football at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton finished 15th and 16th in Potter's first two seasons at the helm, however the Seagulls have made a much brighter start to the new campaign.

The 46-year-old has seen his side win four and draw two of their opening seven league fixtures, which has moved them up to sixth in the table and just two points behind leaders Chelsea.

Potter still has four years remaining on his contract and Brighton are hopeful that the former Swansea City head coach will stay put on the South Coast.
