Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe thanks fans after scooping LMA award

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe reacts to being named Championship Manager of the Year at the LMA awards.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has thanked the club's supporters and board after being named Championship Manager of the Year at the LMA awards.

The Cherries boss, who guided the team to the league title, said during his acceptance speech that he is relishing the chance to manage in the Premier League next term.

"It means everything. I'm so thankful. It was an amazing season and I'm thankful to get over the line. To go on this journey... Thanks to the fans and the board. The reward is to challenge ourselves against the very best," he said.

Howe was presented with the accolade by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, who lavished praise on his Bournemouth counterpart.

"He's done a fine job, a remarkable job, and done it with style and humility," he said.

Howe beat ex-Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic, Ipswich Town's Mick McCarthy and former Brentford manager Mark Warburton to the prestigious prize.
