Yeovil Town's survival hopes are on the brink of extinction, making Saturday's match against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road a must-win encounter for the Glovers.
A 4-1 defeat to fellow strugglers Barnsley last weekend was a hammerblow for Gary Johnson's side and could prove to be the most significant result of their season if they are to be playing League One football next year.
It leaves them six points from safety having played two more games than 21st-placed Charlton Athletic and one more than Barnsley in 22nd.
It would take a minor miracle for them to save themselves from the drop in the final seven games of the season, and no such scenario seems to be on the horizon. The Glovers have not won any of their last six matches having gone five games without defeat before that slump.
If there is a slight glimmer of hope for the visitors it is that they have taken points off the likes of Reading, Wigan Athletic and Leicester City in their last four away outings, although their winless streak on the road now stretches to seven games.
Johnson has no new injury concerns to worry about but could make a couple of changes from the Barnsley defeat as he looks to keep his side in the relegation battle.
Blackpool are not clear of danger themselves, although their recent form has shown definite signs of improvement from the terrible run of form that plunged them from playoff hopefuls to relegation candidates.
Since ending their 18-match winless streak, Barry Ferguson's side have won two and lost two as well as almost springing a surprise in their 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers last weekend.
They remain seven points from safety having played a game more than 22nd-placed Barnsley, so a few more wins are needed before they can categorically say that they are safe from the drop.
The Seasiders could certainly do with an improvement in their goalscoring form having found the net just 33 times in their 39 outings this season, while they have not scored more than one goal in a game since November.
Things are on the up at Bloomfield Road, however, as Blackpool have won back-to-back home matches for the first time since August, doing so without conceding a goal.
Ferguson could name an unchanged side to the one that ran QPR so close, which would mean a home debut for Apostolos Vellios.
