Markus Olsson extends Blackburn stay by signing new one-year contract

Markus Olsson signs a new one-year contract with Blackburn Rovers.

Blackburn Rovers have announced that full-back Markus Olsson has signed a new one-year contract at the club.

The 26-year-old, whose twin brother plays for Norwich City, moved to Blackburn from Sweden in 2012.

Manager Gary Bowyer told the club's official website: "I'm delighted that he has re-signed for another year.

"He has had to wait a long time due to the performances of Tommy Spurr, but the level of displays that he put in at the end of the season against Birmingham, Charlton and Wigan show what a valuable member of the squad he is."

Olsson has made 49 appearances for the Championship side, scoring one goal.
