Frank Lampard scores Chelsea's only goal as the Blues defeat troubled Blackburn 1-0 at Ewood Park.

Blackburn remain firmly in the relegation zone after a 1-0 defeat by Chelsea at Ewood Park this afternoon.

The first half's major excitement came when a plane flew over the ground bearing the message 'Steve Kean out'. Rovers had previously banned fans from bringing along banners criticising the under-fire manager.

Having been benched for the first half, Fernando Torres came on for Florent Malouda after the restart but it was Frank Lampard who found the net five minutes later, heading in from inside the six-yard box.

Kean's side had several good chances in the dying minutes but failed to convert and find their equaliser.

Next up for Blackburn after the international break is an away trip to bottom-of-the-table Wigan, while Chelsea play host to Liverpool.
