Michael Zorc plays down Fabian Schar link

Borussia Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc denies that the club are interested in Basel defender Fabian Schar.

Borussia Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc has played down suggestions that the club could sign Basel defender Fabian Schar.

Dortmund are one of a number of clubs that have been linked with the 21-year-old's services, but Zorc has quelled suggestions of a move.

He told Bild: "The speculation about Fabian Schar being on his way to our club is one of many transfer rumours doing the rounds.

"Most of the time, these transfer rumours turn out not to be true."

Dortmund are expected to lose German centre-back Mats Hummels at the end of the season to Barcelona.
