Former Oldham Athletic defender Jean-Yves M'voto joins Barnsley on a two-year deal.

Barnsley have completed the signing of Jean-Yves M'voto on a two-year contract.

The 24-year-old French defender joins the Championship club on a free transfer following his release from Oldham Athletic.

"I'm very happy to be in Barnsley now," M'voto told the club's official website. "I heard about the move a couple of days ago.

"I had a talk with the manager. I like his project and everything he said. I just wanted to come to Barnsley."

M'voto joined Oldham from Sunderland in 2011 having failed to make an appearance for the Black Cats during his three years with the club.
