League One outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers claimed a 2-2 draw from their pre-season friendly away at Barnsley of the Championship this afternoon.
In a frantic opening, Wolves took the lead in just the second minute when Jake Cassidy's cross from the right was converted by Zeli Ismail from inside the penalty area.
However, just three minutes later the home team were level as Jacob Mellis collected a flicked pass from Chris O'Grady to score.
There were chances at both ends throughout the remainder of the half, but it was Wolves who managed to convert one of them with 20 minutes gone. Sam Ricketts sent over a cross which was met by Danny Batth, who headed in from close range.
Barnsley were much brighter after the restart and drew themselves level just before the hour mark when O'Grady finished off a counter-attack.
Further opportunities were created in the closing stages, but neither side was able to take advantage of them.
