Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez says that the club could collect up to £20m from Spanish giants Barcelona for the transfer of Pedri.

Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez has said that the club could collect up to £20m from Spanish giants Barcelona for the transfer of teenage sensation Pedri.

The 18-year-old joined the Catalan club in July 2020 for £4.3m and was sent back on loan to Las Palmas for the 2019-20 season but has since become a key figure under Ronald Koeman in his first senior campaign at Camp Nou.

Pedri has already made 41 appearances across all competitions so far this term – scoring three goals and providing six assists – and now that he has positioned himself as a regular fixture in the Barca side, Ramirez has revealed how much the Gran Canaria outfit are set to receive if the midfielder fulfils all of the clauses and bonus conditions included in the deal.

"From the day we've made the sale of Pedri until today, we've collected about £9m. Once all the clauses are met, it could reach up to £20m. We also get 15% of a future sale," Ramirez told Cadena SER.

"Barca is the club that counted on Pedri the most. There was another club from Spain that had offered more money, but we kept our word. He has gone to the perfect club and is now playing with the best player in the world."

Pedri now has the chance to earn his first senior cap for the Spanish national team later this month after receiving his first call-up by Luis Enrique for the World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Kosovo.
