Jeremy Mathieu hails Luis Enrique

Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu hails his manager Luis Enrique.

Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu has lavished praise on his manager Luis Enrique.

Mathieu has impressed for the Catalan outfit since arriving from Valencia in the summer and the Frenchman has put his strong form down to Enrique's leadership.

"He's an ambitious coach with very clear ideas, he tries to introduce them bit by bit. He's close to the players, he talks to us a lot and cares about everything," he told the club's official website.

"He is very ambitious and is clear about his ideas and how we should play. He knows how we feel when things go right or wrong. I think he's the right manager for Barca."

Mathieu has been part of a defence that has not conceded a single goal in La Liga so far this season.
