Lionel Messi trains again ahead of El Clasico

Barcelona attacker Lionel Messi trains on his day off as the Argentine fights to be fit for this weekend's El Clasico away to Real Madrid in La Liga.

Lionel Messi could yet make El Clasico on November 21 after once again training on Saturday morning despite the Barcelona squad being given the weekend off.

The Argentine has been out of action since the end of September after suffering cruciate ligament damage to his knee.

It has long been speculated whether the attacker would be fit to make the La Liga clash against Real Madrid next weekend, with the story developing each week.

Sport has pictured Messi arriving for training on Saturday, despite the fact that head coach Luis Enrique signalled that the first-team squad could have the weekend off with a number of players currently away on international duty.

It is understood that Messi once again worked with Gerard Lopez's youth team as well as fitness coach Edu Pons.
