Carles Puyol is out of Barcelona's starting lineup against AC Milan due to a suspected knee problem.

Carles Puyol has been left of Barcelona's starting lineup to face AC Milan in the Champions League at Camp Nou this evening.

The Spanish centre-back is struggling with a knee problem but has been deemed fit enough for a place on the bench.

This means that Daniel Alves, Gerard Pique, Javier Mascherano and Jordi Alba will form a back four for Barca, who head into tonight's last-16 second-leg clash 2-0 down from the first leg played at the San Siro last month.

Lionel Messi will play alongside David Villa and Pedro in attack for the Blaugrana.

Milan, who are without the injured Giampaolo Pazzini, will have M'Baye Niang, Stephan El Shaarawy and Kevin-Prince Boateng as their three forwards.

Barcelona: Valdes; Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba; Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta; Villa, Messi Pedro

AC Milan: Abbiati; Abate, Zapata, Mexes, Constant; Flamini, Ambrosini, Montolivo; Niang, Boateng, El Shaarawy
