Thomas Vermaelen has been included in Barcelona's matchday squad for the first time since his summer move from Arsenal.

The Catalans spent £15m to recruit the centre-back, but he has been dogged by a number of injuries since his arrival, which have prevented the Belgian from making his debut.

However, having returned to full training in recent days, the 29-year-old has been included in Luis Enrique's 18-man selection for tonight's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich at Camp Nou.

Vermaelen has replaced Jeremy Mathieu, who has picked up an Achilles complaint.
