Robert Lewandowski is aiming to make history by scoring 10 Champions League group-stage goals for the second time when Bayern Munich face Barcelona on Wednesday.

Robert Lewandowski will be aiming to make Champions League history when Bayern Munich welcome Barcelona to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

The 2021 Ballon d'Or runner-up has once again been in scintillating form domestically and continentally this season, already boasting nine goals from five Champions League appearances.

Lewandowski has scored in every group-stage game so far this term - including a brace at Camp Nou back in September - and he previously hit 10 group-stage goals back in the 2019-20 season.

Should the 33-year-old find the back of the net against Xavi's side this week, he will become the first player ever to hit double figures in multiple Champions League group-stage campaigns.

Only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have also racked up at least 10 strikes in previous group stages, and Lewandowski will also be out to score for the 10th Champions League game in a row for Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski's brace against former club Borussia Dortmund at the weekend took him up to 27 goals from 21 games in all tournaments during the 2021-22 campaign.
