Riccardo Montolivo confident of beating Barcelona

Riccardo Montolivo insists that AC Milan must use their underdog status as motivation when they face Barcelona in the Champions League.

AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo has insisted that he and his teammates have what it takes to beat Barcelona in the Champions League's round of 16.

The Italians are expected to struggle against the in-form Catalan club but the 27-year-old believes that the Rossoneri can upset the odds over the two legs.

Montolivo told ANSA: "On paper we are disadvantaged, but this is a motivation.

"We know we can [get through to] the next round. But in the coming months we have to grow and become even more of a team."

Milan have not made it past the quarter-finals of the competition since 2007.
