Australia striker Tim Cahill has said that his volley in the 3-2 defeat to the Netherlands today "just felt so right to hit".
The former Everton forward bagged arguably the goal of the World Cup thus far by volleying Ryan McGowan's cross past goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen moments after Arjen Robben had opened the scoring.
"It's a great moment," he told SBS. "Gowser (McGowan) crossed it from the right and the ball was sitting beautifully.
"Either I chest it or head it back. But if you want a shot at the title you've got to have a go at those. It just felt so right to hit it and I hit it sweetly."
Cahill will miss the Aussies' final Group B game with Spain after picking up yellow cards in successive matches.
