Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to pay £29.7m for Atletico Madrid's Samu Omorodion.
The 20-year-old has spent the majority of his summer break from club football in France, where he represented Spain at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Despite starting just the single game for a youthful La Roja side, Omorodion found the net for his nation as they secured gold after beating hosts France in the final.
A former Sevilla and Granada youngster, the attacker joined Spanish giants Atletico on a permanent deal during the summer transfer window of 2023.
Unlikely to earn regular minutes with the La Liga contenders, Omorodion was sent on loan to Deportivo Alaves for the 2023-24 term, scoring on eight occasions across 35 competitive appearances.

Aston Villa 'willing' to pay £29.7m for Atletico Madrid's Omorodion
According to Spanish outlet ElDesmarque, Omorodion could secure a move to the Premier League this summer despite his failed switch to Chelsea.
It is claimed that the 20-year-old had completed a medical on a big-money transfer to Stamford Bridge before the Blues pulled the plug on the deal.
After supposedly being snubbed at the final moment by a Europa Conference League club, Omorodion could be turning out for a Champions League side this season instead.
It is believed that Aston Villa are willing to offer £29.7m for the services of the Spain youth international, with Unai Emery said to be a huge admirer of the player.
As well as the Villans, West Ham United and Real Sociedad are also stated as possible future employers for Omorodion, who is not likely to have a future at Atletico.

Opening weekend omission
With an exit from the Estadio Civitas Metropolitano highly likely, Omorodion was left out of Atletico Madrid's squad for the draw at Villarreal on the opening day of the La Liga campaign.
The Spanish youngster is firmly behind the likes of Julian Alvarez and Alexander Sorloth in the attacking pecking order for Diego Simeone.
In truth, it is hard to argue that Omorodion would be guaranteed game time in the Premier League or Champions League for Emery's Villa this season.
The Second City club are spearheaded by the striking talents of Ollie Watkins, with Jhon Duran representing a capable option off the bench for the Villans, as shown at the London Stadium against West Ham United on the weekend.
