Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran has admitted that the return of manager Diego Simeone to the touchline gave the team "a lot of energy and enthusiasm".
Simeone was forced to watch from the stands in the early weeks of the season following an incident involving the officials in the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid.
The Argentine returned to the touchline at the weekend, and oversaw his side beat Sevilla 4-0 at the Vicente Calderon.
"The work that German [Burgos] did while Diego was gone was extraordinary, but when we saw him back on the touchline, it gave us a lot of energy and enthusiasm. We are a family here at Atletico, we need to have our people around us," Juanfran told reporters at a press conference.
Atletico face Juventus in their second Champions League Group A clash on Wednesday.
