Paul Lambert hints at more signings

Paul Lambert wants to add to his three summer signings to further improve his new squad at Aston Villa.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert wants to further boost the ranks at Villa Park with more summer signings.

The Scot was appointed Alex McLeish's successor last month and has already made three additions to his new squad.

While he is enjoying working with the group of players left behind by his compatriot, Lambert wants to improve the squad with further recruits.

"I'll try to get lads in to give the group a hand. I think that's important. I think everyone knows that - that we'll try and bring in lads," Lambert told Sky Sports News.

"The lads that have come in have fitted in very well, at this minute in time. To be fair, the ones that were already here have been great, let alone anything else.

"We just have to get them to work together and if they do that, they'll be fine."

Lambert has already signed the versatile Matthew Lowton from Sheffield United, midfielder Karim El Ahmadi from Feyenoord and forward Brett Holman from AZ Alkmaar.
