Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar believes that he and his teammates can turn things around against Arsenal this weekend.

Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar has insisted that he and his teammates will try to get a result against Arsenal this weekend following their disappointing defeat to Manchester City.

The Midlands club were thrashed 5-0 by the Premier League champions on Saturday but Vlaar is confident that Paul Lambert's side can "make amends" this weekend.

"Everyone was disappointed and upset but we cannot change anything and must look to the next game against Arsenal," Vlaar told the club's official website.

"Everybody is disappointed, but we just have to lift our heads up because it is only one set of three points. We can make amends against Arsenal and hopefully we will. Another game is coming soon, that's the great thing about football."

Villa are currently five points away from the relegation zone in the league table.
