Sports Mole picks out its team of the week following another thrilling weekend of Premier League action.

The Premier League was up to its old tricks this weekend with plenty of drama played out across the country.

Manchester United moved to the top of the table thanks to a 2-1 win over Arsenal, while Wigan Athletic had obviously failed to read the script when they stunned Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at White Hart Lane.

Chelsea and Manchester City both stuttered with draws and Luis Suarez came to Liverpool's rescue once again as they earned a point against Newcastle United.

With all of that in mind, Sports Mole selects the 11 players who stood out in the action.

Alex McCarthy (Reading)
He may only be 22, but the Royals shotstopper is quickly cementing his reputation as a reliable presence between the sticks. A number of saves against QPR saw his side leave Loftus Road with a point.

Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa)
The Dutchman is looking right at home in the Premier League and helped his side pick up a valuable win at Sunderland.
Steven Taylor (Newcastle)
While his teammate Fabricio Coloccini was making some of the clumsiest challenges this side of non-league football, Taylor was at his solid best at Anfield.
Maynor Figueroa (Wigan)
Figueroa's place in this week's team can be given as a collected effort for the Latics defence as they kept a clean sheet in their remarkable 1-0 triumph at Spurs.

Leon Britton (Swansea)
Swansea's midfield mainstay acted as his side's composed beating heart during their draw with Chelsea.
Jay Tabb (Reading)
The unfussy Tabb kept things ticking over for his side in Sunday's draw at QPR.
Marouane Fellaini (Everton)
The lanky Belgian seemed on a one-man mission to get his side the three points at Fulham and was unlucky not to bag himself a hat-trick in the 2-2 draw.
Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
Despite the absence of Juan Mata, Chelsea had plenty of chances during their draw at Swansea thanks to the invention of Hazard.

Gabriel Agbonlahor (Aston Villa)
Last season was something of a write-off for Agbonlahor, but he proved with his winner at Sunderland that he is quickly finding his lethal touch in front of goal again.
Luis Suarez (Liverpool)
He followed up last week's impressive display in the Merseyside derby with an enigmatic performance against Newcastle. The skill and control that he showed for his goal was out of this world.
Robin van Persie (Man Utd)
The striker was a model of class against his former employers Arsenal during Saturday's 2-1 win at Old Trafford and took his goal with typical ruthlessness.
