Tottenham Hotspur 'lead Arsenal in race for Bordeaux winger Malcom'

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to agreeing a deal with Bordeaux for in-demand winger Malcom, but the move will not go through until the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur have overtaken Arsenal as the favourites to lure Bordeaux winger Malcom to the Premier League, according to a report.

The 20-year-old will be allowed to depart the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux if his valuation, rumoured to be around £35m, is met in full by one of numerous interested parties.

After Liverpool and Manchester United pulled out of the race, The Telegraph reports that Tottenham have pounced by arranging to meet the Brazilian's representatives.

Malcom is said to be open to making the switch, but the move may now be delayed until the end of the campaign to appease Ligue 1 strugglers Bordeaux.

Spurs are expected to shake hands on a deal in the coming days, having also agreed to pay up to £8.8m in add-ons for the promising attacker.
