Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly handed in a transfer request amid speculation that he is closing in on a move to Arsenal.

Aubameyang's future at the Westfalenstadion has looked increasingly uncertain following a number of off-field indiscretions, leading him to be left out of the squad for disciplinary reasons last weekend.

Despite concerns over the Gabon international's behaviour, Arsenal's new head of scouting Sven Mislintat - who worked with Aubameyang at Dortmund - has reassured Arsene Wenger that he will not be a problem at the club.

German publication Bild reports that the 28-year-old is now looking to push through a move by handing in an official transfer request, although the two clubs are understood to disagree on their valuation of the player.

Dortmund are holding out for a bid of at least £60m for a player who has also drawn interest from other Premier League clubs and the Chinese Super League, whereas Arsenal are unwilling to go any higher than £53m.

Arsenal have also been linked with Bordeaux winger Malcom as they look for a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, but Aubameyang - who has scored 21 goals in 23 appearances for Dortmund this season - is understood to be their main target.
