Report: Arsenal plan final Luis Suarez bid

Arsenal are reportedly weighing up making a final offer for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

Arsenal are reportedly considering making a final £49m offer for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

The Gunners have previously had two bids turned down for the controversial forward this summer, the latter of which was £1 over the reported £40m that triggered a clause meaning that the Reds were obligated to inform Suarez of the bid.

Both offers were rejected by the Reds, but Gunners manager Arsene Wenger will sanction one last bid of £49m, according to The Telegraph.

The offer is more than three times the amount that Arsenal paid Zenit St Petersburg to break their transfer record to land Andrey Arshavin in 2009.

Suarez has been training alone after Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers banished him from the squad for publicly airing his desire to leave Anfield and accusing the club of breaking a promise.

Rodgers claimed that the player would only be allowed back into the first team after he apologised to his teammates.

The Uruguayan was recently quoted as saying that he wants to remain at Anfield, despite giving several interviews to the contrary over the last few weeks.

Suarez netted 30 times for the Reds last season, scoring 22 goals in the Premier League.

However, the former Ajax man is currently banned for the first six games of the new season after being handed a 10-game suspension for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic during their 2-2 draw at Anfield back in April.
