Report: Arsenal eye Atletico Madrid's Adrian Lopez

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger turns his attention to Atletico Madrid striker Adrian Lopez after failing to convince Barcelona to sell him David Villa, according to a report.

Arsenal have reportedly give up their pursuit of Barcelona striker David Villa and are keen on signing Atletico Madrid's Adrian Lopez instead.

According to Goal.com, Barcelona have told Arsenal that the Spain international is not available either on loan or on a permanent deal in January.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger was keen on adding the 31-year-old to his squad for the second half of the campaign.

The Frenchman will now turn his attention to Atletico forward Lopez and will offer a transfer fee of £12m to the Spanish club for the services of the 25-year-old Spaniard.

Lopez's current contract with Atletico runs out in June 2015.
