Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans before the transfer window shuts.
The Magpies have spent over £100m this summer to sign Alexander Isak, Sven Botman, Matt Targett and Nick Pope, but they are looking to add to their squad before Thursday's deadline.
As well as looking to sign a defensive midfielder on loan, Newcastle are considering a move for Tielemans, who has been heavily linked to Arsenal.
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle are exploring the possibility of signing the Belgium international from Leicester.
With less than 12 months to run on his current contract, Tielemans is believed to be keen to leave the King Power Stadium.
While Liverpool are also monitoring the situation, Leicester's valuation for the player has not been met in the current transfer window.
Tielemans has featured in all five of the clubs' matches in all competitions this term and is set to start Thursday's home Premier League meeting with Manchester United.
