Martin Odegaard has told his friends that he wants to remain at Arsenal beyond the end of the 2020-21 campaign, according to a report.
The Real Madrid loanee has quickly become a fan favourite at the Emirates after settling into life in England, and he has found the back of the net in the Premier League and Europa League since completing his loan move in January.
Odegaard's performances have led to speculation over a possible permanent move, but Real Madrid are believed to view the Norway captain as an integral part of their future.
However, football.london report that Odegaard has informed those close to him of his wishes to stay in North London once the season concludes, with the playmaker already affirming that he is "very happy" in the English capital.
The report adds that Odegaard will now wait for Arsenal to make a suitable offer for a permanent deal, but if the Gunners decide against keeping him on the books beyond the end of the season, he will not attempt to force a move away from Real Madrid.
Should a permanent deal not materialise, the Gunners have been linked with Real Betis' Nabil Fekir and Juventus' Paulo Dybala as possible alternatives.
