Manchester City will reportedly refuse to break their wage restrictions for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.
The Premier League champions are believed to be in the running for the prolific frontman after the 28-year-old revealed that he will not sign a new contract with the Gunners.
While reports had claimed that the North West side were ready to offer the Dutchman up to £225,000 a week, it is understood that City have since backtracked due to Van Persie's injury history and will not go above £198,000 per week, according to Goal.com.
This latest decision may pave the way for Juventus, who have emerged as favourites to sign the forward.
