Everton are reportedly preparing to join the pursuit of sought-after striker Loic Remy after balking at the price tag that has been slapped on Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku is currently on loan at Goodison Park from Chelsea, who are reportedly willing to sell him in the summer but only for figure in the region of £20m.
With Tottenham Hotspur, Roma and Borussia Dortmund believed to be interested in the Belgian, Everton will likely lose a bidding war for him and have thus switched their attention to other targets.
According to The Telegraph, the Toffees are ready to rival Arsenal and Spurs for a forward who is in their price range, £10m-rated Remy, who will return to parent club Queens Park Rangers in June.
The Frenchman, who has scored 13 goals this season during a one-season spell at Newcastle United, has suggested that he would rather move to another club than sign for the Magpies permanently.
