Arsenal prepared to pay £57m for Napoli forward Piotr Zielinski?

A report claims that Arsenal are about to beat Liverpool to the signing of Napoli ace Piotr Zielinski, who has a £57m buyout clause inserted into his contract.

Arsenal are reportedly ready to splash out £57m to trigger the release clause in Napoli forward Piotr Zielinski's contract.

The Poland international is rumoured to be a long-term target for Premier League rivals Liverpool, who missed out on the chance to sign him two years ago.

According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Mezzogiorno, however, the Gunners are about to usurp Liverpool in the race to land Zielinski as they are happy to pay up his full asking price.

Arsenal are said to have prioritised signing the 23-year-old, despite not knowing who will replace Arsene Wenger in the Emirates Stadium hotseat from next season.

Zielinski has four goals and two assists in Serie A this season, while also netting three times in European competition.
