Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne in 2022.
The 30-year-old's current deal in Naples is due to expire next June, and a number of clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, continue to be linked with the experienced forward.
Insigne has started the 2021-22 campaign in impressive fashion, scoring twice and providing three assists in six Serie A outings, while he has netted 111 times in 405 outings for Napoli in all competitions.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A outfit are currently in discussions with the Italy international's agent over a new contract.
However, the report claims that Arsenal are 'ahead of the others' when it comes to the race for his signature, and the Gunners, as it stands, are preparing to approach the player in January.
Insigne, who played a key role in his country winning this summer's European Championship, came through the youth system at Gli Azzurri before making his first-team debut in 2010.
