Arsenal reportedly make a final decision to keep hold of Manchester City target Alexis Sanchez after missing out on Thomas Lemar.

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez will not leave the club before this evening's transfer deadline, according to reports.

The 28-year-old had been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City on deadline day - a switch the player himself was understood to be keen on in order to reunite with former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola and play Champions League football this season.

The Gunners have repeatedly stated that Sanchez is not for sale despite being in the final year of his contract, but City tested their resolve with a £60m offer earlier today.

However, Sky Sports News reports that Arsenal have now made a final decision to keep hold of the Chile international after missing out on Thomas Lemar.

Lemar had been seen as a possible replacement for Sanchez, but the player is thought to have turned down a £92m switch to the Emirates Stadium due to their lack of Champions League football.
