Arsene Wenger is reportedly set to return to management for a one-off game in charge of an all-star Saudi Arabian league team against Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain.

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has agreed to return to management for a one-off game, according to a report.

The 71-year-old has not been in full-time management since leaving the Emirates Stadium in 2018, when his 22-year tenure in charge of the Gunners came to an end.

In recent months, Wenger has caused controversy in his role as FIFA's chief of global football development by leading the plans to host the World Cup every two years.

According to the Evening Standard, the Frenchman will be back in the dugout in January to take charge of an all-star Saudi Arabian league side.

The team, which will be made up of players from Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, will face Paris Saint-Germain in a friendly match to win the Riyadh Season Cup.

Lionel Messi and his teammates will be in the Saudi capital during Ligue 1's winter break, which runs from December 23 to January 9.
