Francis Coquelin eyes France call-up

Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin is hopeful that he can catch the attention of France head coach Didier Deschamps before Euro 2016.

Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has revealed his determination to win a spot in the France squad ahead of Euro 2016.

After returning from a loan spell at Charlton Athletic midway through last season, Coquelin quickly became a key player in Arsene Wenger's side with his fine performances in the centre of midfield.

The 24-year-old has represented France at every youth level, but he remains hopeful of impressing Didier Deschamps enough to break into the senior squad before they host next summer's tournament.

"Every player wants to represent their country and the Euros in France is something massive for any French player to be a part of," he told Arsenal's official website.

"To be part of the squad would be amazing but there are loads of things to do first and the most important thing is Arsenal.

"If I play well here maybe I will get a chance for France, but the most important thing is Arsenal."

Coquelin has started all four of Arsenal's games this season.
